Dan Savage

Dan has more than 36 years of law enforcement experience and retired as Deputy Chief of Operations for the Grand Rapids MI Police Department. He has been involved in tactical operations and high-profile special events the vast majority of his career.

Dan has held every rank and position on his former agency’s full-time Special Response Team including Commander. Dan has instructed and been certified on numerous topics including – firearms, Master submachine gun, Senior Master TASER® Instructor, distraction devices, aerosol projectors, specialty impact munitions, tactical chemical agents, Simunition® scenario instructor and safety certification, clandestine lab mitigation, tactical team operations, and active violence response. He has served on the National Institute of Justice Technical Working Groups for Less-Lethal technology and SWAT, served as a Training Board member for TASER® International, and has participated in numerous International Law Enforcement Forums. Dan is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 217 and the USSS Dignitary Protective Seminar 202-16.
